BowTech acquires Diamond Archery

Shooting Industry, Feb, 2005

BowTech Archery has acquired Diamond Archery. The move allows BowTech to reach into mid-range price points in bowhunting, while providing a second channel of distribution, according to company officials.

"This acquisition provides the capability to go after a portion of the bowhunting market that we've never touched, without annoying key pro shop partners (who) rely on the more exclusive high-end BowTech brand of products," said John Strasheim, BowTech CEO.

Unlike the BowTech brand, which will still be available through archery pro shops and authorized dealerships, the Diamond brand will also be distributed through mass merchandisers and sporting goods stores.
